The new Premier season in CS2 has officially begun, and alongside it Valve released a major update weighing around 9 GB. Premier Season Four introduces important changes to the map pool - Anubis has been added to Active Duty, while Train has been removed. This is significant news for competitive players and the esports scene, as these changes may impact tactical preparation and map choices in matches. In addition, per-map ranks in Competitive mode have been reset and will be displayed again once players earn the required number of wins.
The update also brings weapon balance adjustments - MP7 and MP5-SD received slight damage buffs, reduced damage fall-off at range, and a $100 price reduction, with the same price cut applied to the PP-Bizon. One of the biggest changes is the revamped jump system, now based on subtick precision, with no stamina impact and a more clearly defined bunnyhop timing window. Valve also improved in-game audio by reducing latency, increasing the quality of weapon and knife sounds, and eliminating issues with overlapping audio.
Two new skin collections - Harlequin and Achroma - have been added to the Weekly Care Package drops, while four older collections were removed. A limited edition skin, AK-47 | Aphrodite, has been added to the Armory. The update also includes visual weapon improvements, numerous technical fixes, and a rotation of community maps. Anubis itself received specific layout changes that may open the door to new plays and tactical setups.
