• Counter-Strike 2 update from July 29, 2026: Cologne 2026 shop adds Ranked Series stickers

Valve added the Ranked Series to the Cologne 2026 Major shop in the July 29, 2026 Counter-Strike 2 update. The new sticker line shows a team's final placement directly in the design, and Valve also adjusted pricing after the original dynamic system failed to land on what it considered reasonable prices.

Counter-Strike 2 update adds Ranked Series to Cologne 2026

This Counter-Strike 2 update is all about the Cologne 2026 shop. Valve shipped a new batch of Major stickers called Ranked Series, built around final standings rather than just the event branding players already had in the Event Series.

That means the sticker itself now tells you more at a glance. If you collect team items by result, not just logo or player autograph, this is the part that matters. Valve didn't bury the point either: these stickers exist specifically to reflect where a team finished.

For players who follow Majors closely, that changes the appeal a bit. Event stickers usually capture the tournament moment. Ranked stickers lean more into the final story of the event.

Valve changed sticker pricing after the first system missed the mark

The more interesting bit, honestly, is pricing.

Valve said the original dynamic pricing system was meant to measure relative interest in teams and players. In plain English, the system tried to read demand and set prices around that. The idea makes sense on paper. In practice, Valve admitted it didn't produce reasonable prices.

So the company changed course.

The new Ranked Series stickers now come in at a lower price, while keeping the same relationship between player and team pricing as the Event Series had at the time of this update. That's a pretty specific correction. Valve didn't scrap the whole structure, just the end result.

From a buyer's perspective, that matters more than any marketing line. If you were looking at Cologne 2026 items before and thought the pricing felt off, Valve basically confirmed that reaction.

A quick breakdown:

  • New item line: Ranked Series stickers
  • Design change: stickers show a team's final standing
  • Pricing change: lower prices than the original dynamic model produced
  • Pricing logic kept: same player-to-team relationship as the Event Series
  • Revenue split: 50% of royalties go to teams, players, and the tournament organizer
  • Shop deadline: Cologne 2026 shop stays open until September 29

That 50% royalty cut remains the standard headline for Major cosmetics, and it's still the strongest reason many players buy these in the first place. You're not just picking up a sticker for a loadout or storage unit collection. Half of the royalties go back to the ecosystem: teams, players, and the TO.

What this means for players browsing the Cologne 2026 shop

For most people, this Counter-Strike 2 update is a shop update, not a gameplay one. No weapon tuning, no map fixes, no smoke weirdness, no subtick drama. Just stickers and pricing. Still, if you follow the Major economy at all, it's not nothing.

The Ranked Series gives buyers a cleaner way to pick items tied to actual tournament results. That's useful for fans who care about placement, and for collectors who want a sticker set that maps directly to Cologne 2026's final order rather than just the broader event pool.

The pricing correction is probably the bigger story. Valve rarely says, this system didn't work well enough, in such direct terms. Here it did. From my experience, that's the part players will remember, because bad sticker pricing gets noticed fast, especially during a Major sale window.

The shop remains live until September 29, so there's still time to grab Ranked Series stickers if you want team or player items from Cologne 2026 under the updated pricing model. This Counter-Strike 2 update doesn't change how the game plays, but it does change how this Major's cosmetics are presented and sold.

Today we're shipping the Ranked Series of Cologne 2026 Major stickers--new stickers that indicate a team's final standing in the design. As with all items in the Cologne 2026 Shop, 50% of the royalties support the teams, players and tournament organizer.

The original dynamic pricing system determined the relative interest in players and teams, but it didn't produce reasonable prices. So the Ranked stickers have a lower price, but with the same relationship between players and teams as the Event Series stickers (as of today's update).

Check out the new stickers and support your favorite players and teams! The Cologne 2026 Shop will be available until September 29th.
